When I was in the 3rd grade, my teacher sent a letter home to my mom saying that even though she had moved my seat to the front of the classroom, I was still squinting to see the chalk board. My mother promptly took me to the optometrist, who then dubbed me blind as a bat. Actually my eye sight probably wasn't that bad when I was 8. But after years of refusing to wear my glasses {due to a fear of resembling Urkel} my eyesight got increasingly worse.
It wasn't until I became a huge choir geek in the 8th grade that I realized - despite how horrendously huge my glasses were, I needed them to actually see the music I was singing. I had my mother take me to the optometrist again, and after a LOT of pleading - was able to get contact lenses.
Now that I am an adult I really regret not wearing my corrective lenses in my earlier years. It probably would have prevented the fact that I am as blind as a bat. Luckily - big frames are coming back {nerd alert}, and being that it is my birthday on Thursday, I'm going to treat myself to some new frames. So I've been spending some time on BonLook "trying on" different frames - although my husband says this is an ineffective way to try on glasses - I still had fun doing it. And because I obviously have no self respect, I'm sharing the pictures with you guys.
I know, Ah-Mazing.
Make sure to stop by tomorrow for some Trick or Treating! Mostly Treating as I'm going to announce the giveaway winner!

I want to get a new pair of glasses. Like Ray-Ban Wayfarers but in eyeglass form. I don't know. Maybe I would look like a weird hipster.
Ah my sissy is blind like me! And it's only going to get worse because now I have progressive lenses and still can't see shit. But you sure are beautiful! Love you!
This is how I know we are meant to be friends... I ALSO found out I had to wear glasses while in the 3rd grade. And I was so embarrassed that I would put my hands around my face during class, because that obviously meant no one would notice my glasses. AND I am also a November baby! The 15th to be exact! :)

Always Maylee
You have such pretty eyes! I like those big frames on you!
Check out warby Parker too! I just bought frames and love them...they are also toddler proof.
when i saw this post in the feed i thought you were just taking adorable pictures at work! because, you know, you're adorable and stuff.
Oh I think you can pull off the big frames!!
I secretly can't wait until I am done having kids and have a stable thyroid med dose so I can qualify for Lasik. The idea of being able to see when I wake up first thing in the morning? Seems pretty crazy to me.
It cracks me up that the glasses I had when I was in 2nd grade, that were GIGANTIC,are now back in style. Who would have thought? Also, love that there's a site where you can try glasses on your pic. That is brilliant!
I like the bottom left look!! You look so cute with glasses. I bought glasses not too long ago from Ditto - they had a virtual try on thing too but it worked great!
Can you be any cuter??? I need to try this website. Too funny! And I am blind as a bat too! I had BIG red glasses starting in the 5th grade...thank goodness my mom let me get contacts when I hit middle school. I can't see a thing without them.
sooo CUTE! I'm totally going to go to BonLook and try me on some rims! Lol
YOU ARE AS CUTE AS A BUTTON!!!!!!!!!! END OF STORY!!
